Selecting Horizontal Sliding Sheet Storage Racks
Horizontal trays organise sheet stock by size or grade. A gate-supported sliding design can allow the access gates to open first and the extended tray to rest on the designed supports; the exact mechanism must be agreed.Configuration inputs
Maximum sheet size, full-stack weight per tray, number of trays, tray extension, gate-opening clearance, crane/forklift access and interlocks.How to choose horizontal sliding sheet storage racks
- Record maximum sheet dimensions, bundle weights and number of stored grades.
- Specify load per tray and the required tray extension/retrieval method.
- For gate-supported trays, agree how the gate opens, locks and supports the tray before extension.
- Review anti-tip/interlocks, one-tray-at-a-time operation, floor fixing and crane/forklift clearances.
Materials, finish and order scope
Agree the steel construction, shelf/deck arrangement, reinforcement, surface treatment, colour and accessories for the use and environment. Required load per level and the heaviest individual item must be reviewed separately.Approval before manufacture: Final dimensions, load ratings, connections, stability, anchors and floor/support conditions require approval for the selected configuration.
